The Delta Nu Chapter was founded on January 10, 1965 at the School of Music on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C..  It was the first chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota ever to be chartered at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).  Our founders were inclusive of 33 women students and 4 faculty, totaling 37 founders in all. For over 40 years, Delta Nu has produced some of the BEST female musicians not only at Howard University, but across the globe!
